Flappy Books-Terms People Should Know About

Heya! I’ve been away long. But, I have sadly extended my posting times to around 4 days or so. Today, okay, maybe not exactly today, I’m gonna start on this line (maybe not continue, we’ll see how it goes) on terms people(you guys and the world) should know about.

Flappy Books.

My sister coined it IF I’m not wrong. But yeah, she thought me that phrase. She googled it a few days earlier and she did not get what she wanted to see. Well, that sucked.

“What type of books do you like?”

Friend:”Mass Market. It’s easy to carry.”

Me:”BIG sized books, hard-cover or flappy.”

Friend:”Flappy?”

Me:”Yeah. Um. The flappy one? You know, the flap flap flap kind?” *gestures*

Friend:”Um okay.”*walks away*

Well, that happened almost too much. Which made me pissed so I am here to educate you people on the fascination and beauty of flappy books.

Flappy books are books that have spines which cannot(if you actually break one flappy book spine, get out of my radar. because I will kill you.) break and the pages open out freely. Books like these normally are big sized so its awesome(for me).

How to spot one:

Go to the book-store. Find a book like this:

The front cover lifts upward naturally. Pages appear in a wave.

The spine appears to be curved so it’s hard to break the ‘flexible’ spine.

Shake the book holding the spine. Book must shake loosely like hair waving.

Flip the book open to a random page. Check the spine. Be careful for this step. Lest a non-flappy book break its spine! If it's not broken, *crosses fingers* it's flappy.

Why flappy books?

BEcause.

LOOK!

LOOK!

You can open even BIGGER than this, without breaking the spine.

Who should get it:

Well, people like me. People anal about the breaking of book spines, because why? The precious book’s spine. Oh look! A new book! It looks too worn to be new. (Broken spine, book lifts up at random pages which drives me crazy the bad way)

Why should you learn “Flappy Book”, AGAIN:

Because, how do you even refer to these books? Paperback? We need specific. And we can recommend books to anal people easily.

“Hey! This book is awesome. You should get it.”

“Hmm.. Okay. I guess it’s great. I should get it. Does it come in paperback?”

“Yes. And. Flappy.”

*Goes to nearest book store immediately*

And we can talk more freely and easily again. Some people out there probably know such wonders exist. But they think they’re crazy because no one else acknowledges these things. Oh. Not to mention we can request publishers for more of such books to be printed.

I love love love flappy books, I have 5 flappy books. The rest was unfortunately not flappy. But, I did not break the spines, so they look new. I don’t know about you guys, but I hope you can grow to love, understand , under-stand the concept of flappy books and start to educate the world to acknowledge such a thing.
